Answer engine optimization is the work of making your business easy for AI assistants to find, understand and cite when someone asks a question. It builds on SEO and puts extra weight on clear answers, structured data and consistent facts about your business.
Each of 57 checks has a fixed weight and measures a quality ratio from what we find on your site. A category score is the points earned out of the points possible, and your overall score averages the five categories. Every rule is listed on the methodology page.
No. We read the raw HTML your server sends, because that is what most AI crawlers receive. If your site relies on JavaScript to show its content, the report says so and shows you exactly how much text a crawler can see.
It is marked unverified and left out of your score entirely. A timeout or a blocked request never counts against you, and we never estimate a result we could not confirm.
No tool can promise that. AI systems weigh many signals, including ones outside your website. The scan focuses on the signals you control, which are the foundation every AI system relies on.
Yes. The scan reads public pages the same way a visitor would, at a gentle pace, and respects your robots.txt for every page beyond the homepage. It never submits forms, logs in or changes anything.
Each report has its own private, unguessable link. Anyone you share that link with can open it, with or without an account. Reports are saved in our database so you can come back to them, and reports you run while signed in also appear in your account. If you enter your email to unlock a report, we save that email with the report. Scans do not save your IP address; we keep only a scrambled code to apply the free-scan limit. When you sign in, our sign-in provider records standard security details for your session, including your IP address.
